will build civic awareness by involving students in local issues. Inviting community experts and interviewing them as part of the project research can build strong connections between students and community members.
Student Driven
learning and assessment provides a voice for the learner. It is guided through student created rubrics, self assessments, and reflections with opportunities for rich teacher feedback. With this sense of ownership in the learning student engagement is created and celebrated.
Cooperative Learning Groups
become research teams using various roles during on-site field work and project creation. The action steps outlined work towards reaching student goals of a project based learning experience.
Project Creation
happens when the topic of focus has uncovered new knowledge for our students. The creation of a tangible project allows for authenticity to transpire in a student's learning experience.
